GUMC Preschool Daily Schedule

GUMC Preschool is licensed by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), with a higher commitment to the children, their families, and quality Early Childhood Education. The preschool provides a variety of programs for three, four and five year old children. Our program's, themes, and curriculum are designed with age appropriate activities and provide a wide range of experiences with endless opportunities to explore and understand the world through creative art, music, science, language, literature, cooking, math and reading readiness. Our in-house and off-campus field trips help increase a child's awareness and knowledge base. A variety of indoor and outdoor activities provide ample opportunity for individual and group experiences and play (after all, PLAY is a child's work). The program combines fun and learning; as children learn best by touching, seeing, doing, hearing and tasting for themselves.

Daily Schedule

The typical class includes the following activities in a varied order depending on the make-up of the class.
Arrival	Welcoming Time Open Table Top Manipulatives
Circle Time	Unit Discussion Finger Plays, Songs, Movement Flannel Boards Calendar, Etc.
Open Time	Table Activities Manipulatives Blocks Easel/Creative Art Housekeeping Dramatic Play Science Table Directed Activities
Clean Up	All Children assist in clean up time
Wash Hands
Snack/Lunch	Each student provides their own NUT FREE snack The 4-hour class provides their own lunch GUMC provides water, 1% milk, cups, and napkins
Circle Time	Books/Stories Movement
Outdoor Play	Playground Rainy Day Room may be used for gross motor activities in case of inclement weather
Dismissal
Once a week each class is provided with a Music/Movement Enrichment Class. Once a month each class is provided with a Christian Kids Time in the Church Sanctuary.
